Lake Iezer-Feredeu is a lacustrine basin formed by the damming of mountain valleys by large landslides in the Fels mountains. Following analysis of lake sediments and research of old historical documents, the lake is over 900 years old. Historical documents attest to the presence of these lakes since the 16th century. Thus, the first documentary mention of Lake Iezer appears in 1594.

This church was built between 1929 and 1934, the foundation stone being laid on September 16, 1929, during the pastorate of the parish priest Grigore Agapi. It was consecrated on 21 October 1934 by the Metropolitan of Bucovina Nectarie Cotlarciuc. The monumental church dedicated to St. Nicholas stands on a plateau about 40 meters above the bed of the Zbrancanilor stream. The plan of the church was drawn up by the engineer Hitzegrad from Chernivtsi, in the shape of a cross with three towers. The church has three entrances, the main one facing west through the privy, the second one facing south with the entrance to the nave, and the third one also facing south through which one enters the altar.

The Church of Saint George was built on a very beautiful site, with a wide panoramic view of Câmpulung, Pojorâta and Fundul Sadovei, it stands on the plateau at the foot of Mount Muncel. The architecture of the church is in the shape of a cross, with gothic-style windows and a single large tower.

Sadova, Pârâul Morii

In Sadova, according to experts, there are the oldest elms in the country dating back to the 14th century, so over 500 years old. Of the three elms, two are on their way up, having quite large scrubs. The most vigorous has a girth of 5.6 metres.

Obcina Feredeului

  • Obcina Feredeului

Obcina Feredeului is a protected mountain range of the Maramures and Bucovina Carpathians, belonging to the Eastern Carpathians mountain range. In this area, there are areas of meadows with land on which traditional farming is practised.

The site is made up of narrow, close ridges that average 1100 m in height. The site has a visitor and information centre and there are several entry points, footpaths and roads, tourist trails and theme trails on the site.
